Who is Grace?

Hello! I'm so happy you are taking the time to get to know me and my business a bit more. First and foremost, I am a mother and step mother to 5 wonderful children ranging in ages from 16 to 2. I am also a wife, a daughter, and an educator.

My path to education began with getting a bachelor's degree in History from the Florida Atlantic University. I originally majored in education, ventured into deaf ed, and landed with a degree in History, thinking I'd eventually pursue a law degree. However, life and fate collided and I found myself teaching Geometry at Jensen Beach High School in 2008.

From 2008 until 2018 I taught Middle through High School level Mathematics, and High School World History, well as Psychology in both brick and mortar and virtual settings. Like many tutors or other businesses, I too have years experience. However, what is unique to me is my background in working with struggling students, and various age groups. I have worked with students with various, slight, and major educational learning disabilities, and am comfortable and competent working alongside out of the box thinkers. I am also a firm believer that Math can not be memorized. I seek to build strong foundations in mathematical practices so that each student can improve.

I have a keen ability to gauge where a student is, identifying the gaps and weaknesses and implementing effective strategies. I also have been able to teach students ranging in ages from 6 to adulthood. I have worked with students and seen first hand the way that content progresses in math from kindergarten through college level Algebra, and it has allowed me to see broadly versus singularly when working with students.

Finally, I love what I do, and believe success is also dependent on healthy relationships and belief in oneself. I see each student as an individual and commit myself to seeing growth in every one I work with.
